The Painting & Decorating Association was officially launched in July 2002, following a merger of the two leading associations representing professionals painters and decorators in the UK: the British Decorators Association and the Painting & Decorating Federation.Both associations had a long and distinguished history, the British Decorators Association having originally been founded in 1894.The PDA represents and serves the whole trade: almost 2500 member companies ranging from sole traders to major national contractors.The association offers a wide range of value-for-money services and benefits and also the status of belonging to a prestige organisation whose high standards have achieved national recognition.Our membersalready know the benefits...

Mission Statement
The Painting and Decorating Association seeks to uphold, promote and enhance the status and
professional standards of its members and the Painting and Decorating industry by:

requiring members' compliance with its Code of Practice and a high level of craft competence and business integrity

providing advice on employment, legal and technical matters, and actively promoting health & safety and training

developing and providing a range of advantageous services

promoting members' interests by the practical association and co-operation with allied professional organisations

employing competent, motivated staff in an environment conducive to their well-being and the encouragement of their efforts to secure the ongoing interests of the Association and its members
